House of the Priest

Machu Picchu, Perú

Opposite the “Main Temple” at the southern end of the Sacred Plaza is a room with two entrances and rustic walls called the “Priest’s House.” Hiram Bingham called it this because he thought that it was from there that the High Priest departed to direct the religious acts that would have taken place in the plaza.
It has two doors that open onto the plaza and a series of niches inside.
